11 dead in China bus accident
January 29th, 2011 - 9:52 pm ICT by IANSBeijing, Jan 29 (IANS) At least 11 people were killed when a bus plunged into a ravine Saturday in northwest China, officials said.Another 22 people were injured after the bus, carrying 33 passengers, tumbled into a 10-metre-deep ravine, probably due to the presence of ice on the road in Guyuan city in Ningxia Hui province, Xinhua reported.
Nine people died at the spot and another two died at a hospital.
Investigation into the cause of the accident is under way, officials said.
