20110109__cowboyp1Jan 9, (THAINDIAN NEWS) January is not exactly the season for Rodeo but the events that are being held as sections of Denver’s 105thannual National Western Stock Show may affect the upcoming season for the cowboys out there. The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association members have kicked off the event on Saturday and it would lasts for 17 days. It will go on till Jan 23rd and there will be events each day barring Jan. 10-12th. The PRCA Rodeos perform when other outdoor rodeo grounds are covered by snow. The veteran cowboys say that if one performs really well all through the winter he can be qualified for the finals by the mid-year or so.

Denver Rodeos are among the best 10 Rodeos of the year and the lure of the prize money makes it even more interesting. The winner gets around $15,000. The 2011 season commenced officially on October 1, 2010 and it does not have many Rodeos to pick from. That explains why the National Western stock show has got so much of attention. The event is likely to see the coming together of the amateur candidates with the pro cowboys. Trevor Brazile who is 8 times champion, is going to take part in this event, it has been reported.

The largest stock show of the nation that started with a part of the 12000 animals getting screened, began in 1906. The debut Stock show was held in circus tents and it carried on for 6 days with an attendance of 15000. There was no looking back after there with the 2010 Stock Show witnessing an attendance of 633,003.
