Noida (Uttar Pradesh), April 24 (IANS) A 25-year-old youth was shot at in a marriage function here early Thursday following a scuffle over sharing the dance floor. Superintendent of Police (City) Prabal Pratap Singh said Tushar Chandra, a resident of Ghaziabad - a suburb of national capital Delhi, was attending a wedding function in a community centre in sector-50 of Noida.
At around 3.00 a.m. Thursday, when the function was almost over, Chandra got into an argument with some other guests over dancing on the dance floor. Unidentified assailants then opened fire at him. Chandra suffered one gunshot wound on the back and was taken to Prayag Hospital where his condition is said to be serious.
Singh said the police have seized the video recording of the function to identify the assailants. The police registered a case on their own after the hosts and guests were reluctant to register the police complaint.
