Youth held with 300 kg of marijuana
December 15th, 2009 - 1:19 pm ICT by IANSRaipur, Dec 15 (IANS) A 25-year-old man has been arrested with 300 kg of marijuana (ganja) worth Rs.700,000 from this Chhattisgarh capital, police said Tuesday.
Neem Kumar Singh, a resident of Jagdalpur town of Bastar district, was arrested Monday.
“He was arrested with 300 kg of ganja from near a hotel in Pandri area of Raipur. The ganja was put in small packets in a bag. The ganja packets are estimated to be worth over Rs.700,000,” Inspector General of Police (Raipur range) D.M. Awasthi told IANS.
Awasthi said Singh was supposed to deliver the bag in Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh.
A Bolero car in which Singh had kept the bag was also seized .
