April 21st, 2011 - 8:47 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, April 21 (IANS) A 19-year-old youth has been arrested for raping a 21-year-old girl from Assam in Saket area of south Delhi, police said Thursday.
According to the police, both Mukesh, who hails from Madhubani district of Bihar, and the victim, worked as cooks in an apartment in Saket.
On Wednesday afternoon, when the victim went upstairs for some work, Mukesh forcibly dragged her to his room in the servant quarters and raped her, a senior police officer said.
Mukesh then threatened the girl of dire consequences if she told anyone about the incident, the officer added.
However, the girl summoned courage and told the woman for whom she worked about the rape, who then lodged a complaint.
“The medical report confirmed rape. We arrested Mukesh late Wednesday evening,” the police officer said.
