Youth falls into Rock Garden pond, dies
April 25th, 2011 - 3:51 pm ICT by IANSChandigarh, April 25 (IANS) An outing with friends turned tragic for a 21-year-old youth, who slipped and fell into a shallow pond at the Rock Garden here. The youth died of head injuries, police said Monday.
Ajay Kumar, a resident of Sector 9, was getting his photograph clicked near the waterfall of the Rock Garden when he slipped on the rocks and fell into the pond Sunday evening.
“The youth sustained serious head injury. He was immediately taken to a government hospital but doctors could not save his life,” said a police official.
Everyday hundreds of tourists come to the Rock Garden, which is the creation of master curator Nek Chand.
