Kozhikode, Aug 7 (IANS) A Kerala youth, coming from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), was arrested at the international airport here Thursday after his passport was found to have a forged immigration seal. Immigration authorities said Abdulla Puthiyavalappil, 23, used a fake passport to board the flight from the UAE as he was an accused in a criminal case there.

“He destroyed the fake passport on the flight and on his arrival at Kozhikode, he produced his original passport. But on close inspection we found that the UAE immigration seal on the passport was forged,” an immigration official said.

In the last three weeks immigration authorities at the airport have arrested nine people with fake passports.
