Jind (Haryana), Oct 28 (IANS) A young couple was found hanging from a tree in a Haryana village, police said Wednesday adding that investigations are underway into the deaths.
The bodies were discovered hanging from a tree in Sapa Kheri village, 30 km from here, late Tuesday, villagers told the police.

According to residents, the two were in love but their families were opposed to their relationship.

Later, the bodies were brought down and cremated by one of the families.

But the villagers are now not allowing the police to enter the village, about 200 km from state capital Chandigarh.

“A case has been registered and a forensic team has been sent to the site to collect evidence. The bodies were cremated by the family almost immediately,” Jind district police chief Satheesh Baalan told IANS.
