Bharatiya Janata Party Bangalore, Nov 4 (IANS) Former Karnataka chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa, arrested in two corruption cases, will complete three weeks in jail as his bail plea hearing was Friday adjourned to Nov 8.

The Bharatiya Janata Party leader was arrested Oct 15 and has been in Bangalore’s central prison in eastern suburb of Parappana Agrahara since Oct 19 after spending three days in two hospitals.

Justice B.V. Pinto, who had granted bail to Yeddyurappa in one case Thursday, said Friday that he will resume hearing the bail plea in the second case Nov 8.

Yeddyurappa’s supporters had burst fire crackers and several of them had rushed to Parappana Agrahara Thursday expecting him to be released soon after the bail was granted in once case.

Their expectation was that he will get the bail in the second case too and will be out of jail by Thursday evening.

Yeddyuappa faces three more cases of corruption and illegal land deals. He has sought anticipatory bail in them.

This plea is being heard by another high court judge, Justice H. Billappa.

The five cases were filed in January by two Bangalore advocates Sirajin Basha and N.K. Balaraj.
