Women who make most decisions have less sex
September 24th, 2011 - 12:46 am ICT by IANSLondon, Sep 23 (IANS) Married women who make most decisions at home seem to have sex less frequently, say experts.
Experts examined the link between married women’s autonomy and regularity of their sexual relations in the study.
Lead researcher Michelle Hindin, professor at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, said: “The more decisions a woman reported making on her own, as compared to joint decision making, the less likely she was to have sex and the longer it was since she last had sexual intercourse.” .
Researchers, the Telegraph reports, analysed data from the participants to indicate the day, week, month and year they last had sex.
They also examined socio-demographic and relationship factors such as age, wealth, parity, husband’s residence, and marital duration.
The majority of women reported having sex within the last month. For men, making decisions by themselves was not related to the timing of sex.
