November 14th, 2011 - 7:23 pm ICT by IANSBeijing, Nov 14 (IANS) A Chinese woman has been charged with stabbing her lover’s pregnant wife, seriously injuring her and killing the baby, prosecutors said.
The 20-year-old woman faces charges of intentional injury, the Shanghai Daily reported.
After stabbing the other woman, she tried to commit suicide, prosecutors said.
The woman from Anhui province came to Shanghai last year to look for a job. A friend’s brother-in-law who she had not met before picked her up at the station and took her to a hotel where they had sex, prosecutors said.
The man told her he was married and had a six-year-old son but promised he would divorce his wife and marry her instead.
She later found that she was pregnant and had to abort the baby.
She then discovered that the man’s wife was pregnant and due to give birth soon. She visited their house and stabbed the wife in the stomach.
