Woman nabbed with live cartridges at Delhi airport
February 10th, 2011 - 12:59 am ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Feb 9 (IANS) A 23-year-old woman was arrested after she was caught with two cartridges minutes before she was to board a flight at the Indira Gandhi International Airport here, police said Wednesday.”The woman has been identified as Neha Tomar, a resident of Ghaziabad. She was about to board a Kingfisher flight Sunday when the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) officials stopped her after they noticed cartridges in her bag as it passed through the X-ray scanner,” said a senior police officer.
When questioned, she was clueless about the cartridges, police said.
“She said her elder son had got the cartridges home after he found them while playing with his friends near a warehouse a few days ago. Though she had asked him to throw them away, he had put them in her bag, as a sort of a prank,” said the officer.
A case under the Arms Act has been registered, police said.
