Woman injured at Ramlila ground very critical
June 14th, 2011 - 1:45 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, June 14 (IANS) The condition of 51-year-old Raj Bala continued to be “very critical” Tuesday, over 10 days after she suffered spinal injuries during the police action on yoga guru Baba Ramdev and his supporters at Ramlila ground here, doctors said.
The Gurgaon resident is in the intensive care unit of the G.B. Pant Hospital. Her status report released Tuesday by the medical superintendent stated, “She continues to be on ventilator support and her condition is very critical.”
“The patient’s condition remains the same as before. She is conscious, quadriplegic and obeying verbal commands.”
“There is no major fluctuation in heart rate and blood pressure,” said the report. She underwent surgery June 5 for cervical spinal injuries. Doctors have done decompression and fixation using a plate, screw and cage.
“Bala’s vital parameters are being maintained with pharmacological support,” the report said.
