Woman held for illegal liquor sale
July 10th, 2011 - 1:02 am ICT by IANSGhaziabad, July 9 (IANS) A 40-year-old woman was Saturday arrested for illegally stocking and selling liquor from her house in Loni area of Ghaziabad, police said.
Preeti Kaur, a widow and member of social group Akhil Bharatiya Jan Kalyan Sabha, was held after a huge quantity of liquor was recovered from her house at Adesh Nagar area.
Superintendent of Police (City) J.K. Shahi said: “We have held her and seized four bags of liquor from her.”
She was arrested on complaints of members of her own social group who had been approached by her neighbours, police said.
