Woman detains man armed with model gun
November 21st, 2011 - 6:03 pm ICT by IANSMoscow, Nov 21 (IANS/RIA Novosti) A female shop assistant in the Western Siberia city of Omsk detained a would-be robber and did not let him go until the police officers arrived, police said Monday.
Police said the man “threatened” the woman with a model gun and then tried to steal a number of items from the shop’s display window.
But the shop assistant “kept her head and together with a colleague from a neighbouring shop locked the suspect up in a sales booth until the police arrived”.
The suspect faces up to ten years behind bars, if found guilty.
