Woman burns herself after husband’s death, dies
December 27th, 2011 - 10:13 pm ICT by IANSBhopal, Dec 27 (IANS) A woman in Madhya Pradesh’s Shivpuri district died in hospital Tuesday of extensive burns sustained when she set herself on fire after hearing about the death of her husband, police said.
Radha Vyas, wife of Krishan Gopal Vyas, set herself on fire Monday after learning that her husband, who had met a road accident in Meerut, had died in Delhi during treatment.
Police said Radha had got 95 percent burns and was referred to a Gwalior hospital.
“But she died in a hospital today (Tuesday). Both husband and wife were cremated together,” said a local police official in Shivpuri.
The two were married seven years back but had no children.
