Woman approaches court seeking protection from husband

New Delhi, July 10 (IANS) The Delhi High court Thursday issued notice to the police after a letter written by a woman alleged that her husband and his family were harassing her for dowry. Justice S.L. Bhayana asked the police to investigate the allegations made by complainant Anuradha and posted the matter for Aug 21. Anuradha got married to Sanjeev in May 2007 and things starting turning sour soon after.

She was forcefully thrown out of her home April 5 and asked to bring Rs. 200,000 and a car, the complainant has alleged.

Anuradha is six-months pregnant and has alleged that her husband along with other family members beat her regularly and wanted to extort money from her father who recently retired from the Indian Air Force.
