Woman, 2 children in hospital after man’s arrest

Rohtak (Haryana), Dec 8 (IANS) A woman and her two sons were admitted to the Post-graduate institute of medical sciences here Thursday after they consumed some poisonous substance following the arrest of her husband by the Haryana police in a case of cheating.

A police official said that the woman, Alka, and her sons, Harsh and Lakshya, were being treated in the hospital after they tried to commit suicide by consuming a poisonous substance.

Deputy superintendent of police Sumit Kumar said that the police had arrested a businessman Ashish Jain of Jind Wednesday night following a complaint by a local businessman, Ajay Ahlawat.

Jain had alleged bought computers worth Rs 11.5 lakh from Ahlawat but did not make the promised payment. Jain was arrested by the police from Rajgarh town in Rajasthan and brought here.

Kumar said that the wife and two children of Jain followed him to the police station here and later their health started showing signs of deterioration.

The police immediately rushed them to the PGIMS for treatment where doctors were treating them for poisoning.

Rohtak is 270 km from state capital Chandigarh.
