- Bhubaneswar, Nov 6 (IANS) A man was Friday stabbed by a youth in the premises of a local court in Orissa’s Cuttack city, police said.
Satyajit Nayak 26, a resident of Nuagaon village in costal Jagatsinghpur district, had come to depose in the court of sub-divisional judicial magistrate (SDJM) as a witness in a case relating to land dispute in his locality.
As he was waiting for his turn to depose before the court, Pratap Nayak, 23, a fellow villager, listed as opposition party in the case, suddenly attacked him with a sharp weapon, police said.
“Satyajit sustained injuries in his neck and back. He is however out of danger. We have registered a case on the basis of the complaint lodged by him. Investigations are on,” a police officer of the city’s Lalbagh police station said.
