‘Winslet’s win as supporting actress unfair’
February 6th, 2009 - 7:40 pm ICT by IANSLondon, Feb 6 (IANS) British actress Kristin Scott Thomas was baffled when Kate Winslet won a Golden Globe for “The Reader”. She feels that Winslet’s part was too big to be recognised as a supporting role. The Oscar-nominated actress has criticised the decision to honour the “Titanic” star with the award for best supporting actress, insisting that the award should have gone to one of the other nominees, reports contactmusic.com.
“I didn’t understand Kate Winslet’s name as supporting actress at all. I thought the whole thing was rather odd since it seemed to be incredibly unfair to the other actresses because (Winslet’s part) just wasn’t a supporting role,” she said.
