Widespread rains in Himachal

Shimla, July 9 (IANS) The hills of Himachal Pradesh saw widespread rainfall Saturday with the weather office here forecasting heavy showers Sunday too.
“There are chances of heavy rainfall at isolated places in the state in the next 24 hours,” Manmohan Singh, director of the meteorological office here, said in a statement.
Dharampur town in Solan district was the wettest in the state with 104 mm of rain.
A government spokesperson said the Satluj, Beas and Yamuna rivers and their tributaries are in spate in Kinnaur, Shimla, Kullu, Mandi, Bilaspur and Sirmaur districts.
There are no reports of any damage to property or casualties so far.
