Widespread rainfall in store for Uttar Pradesh
August 1st, 2011 - 1:57 pm ICT by IANSLucknow, Aug 1 (IANS) After remaining subdued for the last few days, the monsoon rain is expected to pick up in most parts of Uttar Pradesh from Monday, a weather official said.
“Widespread rains will be witnessed in Uttar Pradesh. The weather conditions responsible for the showers are reviving in various parts of the state,” state Met Office director J.P. Gupta told reporters here.
“A circulation has been spotted hovering over central Uttar Pradesh. Owing to it, the central and the eastern regions will receive more rainfall than the western parts of the state,” he added.
Such weather conditions are likely to continue till Wednesday.
More rains could be a concern for people living in Gonda, Balrampur, Lakhimpur Kheri and Bahraich districts where the rivers have already been in spate during the monsoon season.
Meanwhile, the minimum temperature of Lucknow was recorded at 26.4 degree Celsius Monday.
