‘Whisky’ arrested in Punjab

The Chandigarh Police Saturday said they arrested Davinder Singh alias Whisky from Khanna town Friday evening. He was being tracked for two weeks.
Whisky had last month murdered a city-based financier inside his office in a busy market of Chandigarh.
“Many cases ranging from murder, attempt to murder, kidnapping and cheating are pending against Whisky in various police stations of Punjab and Chandigarh,” a police officer said.
“He played a major role in supporting terrorism in Punjab. We suspect he still has links with similar outfits of other states. He is a notorious criminal and had lived at various places with forged identities. We hope to solve many pending cases after interrogating him,” the officer added.
Chandigarh Police had announced a cash reward of Rs.50,000 for anybody providing information about Whisky’s whereabouts. That led to his fall.
