When the bride spent her wedding night in police cell
October 7th, 2011 - 6:21 pm ICT by IANSLondon, Oct 7 (IANS) A Briton, who had just got married, spent her wedding night in a police cell as she was arrested for attacking her neighbour.
The row broke out after Imogen Hope, who was still wearing her wedding gown, returned home from the reception with her new husband Keith.
Imogen lunged at Samantha Pilling and rained blows on her before being pulled away. They have a long-running dispute, The Sun reported.
Police came and they offered her a change of clothes before they took her away.
She refused.
Then, Imogen was marched off to the cell while her new husband ended up spending his wedding night at his parents house.
Stephen Young, a police official, said Imogen stood out because she was “wearing a wedding dress”.
“It was suggested to her that she get changed out of her wedding dress. That was the initial agreement. She then changed her mind and decided to attend the custody suite as she was.
“Her husband was obviously disappointed,” Young was quoted as saying.
