Warm day in Delhi, sunny Holi in store Sunday (Lead)
March 19th, 2011 - 8:35 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, March 19 (IANS) With the mercury on a steady rise over the last few days in the national capital, Saturday was no different as the maximum temperature was recorded four notches above average at 34.4 degrees Celsius. The met office forecast a warm Holi Sunday.
“The minimum temperature was three notches above average at 19.3 degrees Celsius. The humidity levels were between a high of 87 percent and a low of 22 percent,” said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
According to the IMD, skies will remain clear Sunday, when the festival of Holi will be celebrated. The maximum and minimum temperatures will hover around 32 and 18 degrees Celsius, respectively, added the official.
Friday’s maximum temperature was 33.8 degrees Celsius, four notches above the average.
