Warm day in Delhi, no rains likely (Lead)

New Delhi, Aug 8 (IANS) It was a warm day in Delhi Monday as the clouds played hide and seek and some parts received a light drizzle. No showers are likely Thuesday though some parts may again see traces of rainfall.

“The maximum and minimum temperatures were 35.3 and 27.8 degrees Celsius, both two notches above average respectively,” an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

“The humidity levels wavered between a high of 87 and a low of 61 percent,” the official added.

The Met office forecast a cloudy Tuesday with no rainfall.

“Some parts of the city may receive a slight drizzle but there would be no heavy showers and a major part of the city will remain dry,” the official said.

“The maximum and minimum temperatures will hover around 35 and 27 degrees Celsius,” added the official.

The city has so far received a total of 211 mm of rainfall this monsoon, which is 39 percent below average, according to the IMD.
