Virbhadra not to contest next Lok Sabha elections
June 18th, 2011 - 10:49 pm ICT by IANSShimla, June 18 (IANS) Union Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Minister Virbhadra Singh Saturday said he would not contest the next Lok Sabha elections but declined to answer if he would contest the next state assembly polls.
“I would not contest the 2014 Lok Sabha polls,” he told reporters here in an informal interaction.
The five-time former Himachal Pradesh chief minister, however, was evasive about contesting the next assembly elections, 18 months away.
“I will not interfere in party state affairs and will do only those works assigned to me by AICC president,” added Singh, who is currently touring the state.
Virbhadra Singh won from the Mandi parliamentary constituency in the 2009 general elections.
