Verma downs Ackermann in ITF Futures tennis; Yuki, Vishnu pull out

Chennai, Nov 5 (IANS) UM Gugan Verma of India ousted Michael Ackermann of Germany 6-3, 6-3 in the first round of the TNTA ITF Mens’ Futures tennis championships sponsored by SAIL and Indian Oil here Saturday with rains playing havoc with the schedule.

Meanwhile, Indian hopes suffered a setback as Yuki Bhambri and Vishnu Vardhan withdrew due to injury and medical reasons.
