“The woman has alleged that Singh lured her to his government quarter inside the police station premises when she went there to lodge a complaint Oct 15,” Shahjahanpur district police Superintendent Ejil Arasan told IANS over phone.

The woman said that Singh raped her and then tried to give her money, he added.

“The woman recognized Singh when we showed her his identity card,” Arasan added.

In another incident of police atrocity, a drunk policeman in Lucknow shot dead a handicapped paan seller because he did not get his cigarette quickly.
