US soldier killed in Iraq

Baghdad, Nov 16 (IANS) A US soldier was killed during a military operation in Iraq, the US military said.
“A US service member was killed Monday while conducting operations in central Iraq,” Xinhua quoted a military statement as saying Tuesday.
The statement did not give details about how and where the incident took place. The name of the deceased was also withheld.
This was the second US soldier to be killed so far this month in Iraq.
The latest casualty took the overall US toll in Iraq since March 2003 to 4,484, according to media figures released by the Pentagon.
In October, US President Barack Obama announced that all American troops stationed in Iraq will pull out of the country by the end of this year.
