US national arrested with drugs in Goa
August 3rd, 2011 - 7:08 pm ICT by IANSPanaji, Aug 3 (IANS) A US national was arrested and remanded in police custody for possessing drugs, Goa Police said Wednesday.
David Ben Tepherith, 52, was arrested following a tip-off and 10 gm charas (cannabis) and 425 gm of ganja (marijuana) - cumulatively worth Rs.15,000 - were seized during searches at his rented room in Siolim, 25 km from here late Tuesday night, according to officials at the Anjuna police station.
“He has been arrested under sections 420 (b) (ii) and under relevant sections of the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act,” police inspector Manjunath Dessai said.
