US lauds UAE troops’ mission in Afghanistan
September 5th, 2011 - 12:13 am ICT by IANSKabul, Sep 4 (IANS/WAM) The US has praised the humanitarian mission being carried out by the UAE’s troops in Afghanistan.
Richard Olson, the coordinating director for development and economic affairs at the US embassy in Kabul praised the mission the UAE troops are performing, saying it conveys the humanitarian message of the UAE in assisting friendly countries.
The appreciation came as UAE Ambassador to Afghanistan Yusouf Saif Al Ali gave an insight to Oslon, into the humanitarian, developmental and security mission of the UAE Force in Afghanistan.
The US diplomat was briefed during his visit to the UAE troops who are participating in the “Mission: Winds of Goodness” which includes delivering humanitarian aid to the Afghan people, maintaining security and stability, and supporting social and economic development in remote communities.
