Honduras, Oct. 11, (THAINDIAN NEWS) United States managed to successfully beat Honduras 3-2 in the match held yesterday, Oct. 10. With the win they have secured a place for themselves in the World Cup. The win on Saturday allowed the US team to make their 6th consecutive entry in to the World Cup arena.

From start to finish, it proved to be a very dramatic match, one that had the making of being counted as one of the best played in the league so far. Two of the goals on behalf of the US team was scored by Conor Casey, which came up in the second half of the match. For Casey, this was his first two international goals, which surely gave reason for a double celebration for the man. The third goal from the US side was put in the net by Landon Donovan.

This win grants the victorious US side to get a gateway to South Africa in order to face of the biggest tournament in the field of world football. Commenting on the win once the match was over, Landon Donovan was found saying, “It never gets old, that’s for sure. After what most of us would say was a very disappointing 2006 World Cup, we now have a chance at redemption.”

It was in a state of frenzy that the fans from both sides had lined up outside the venue in order to see the match and from what took place, it cannot be said that the match let any body down. It was thrilling from start to finish. Both sides managed putting in the best and made it a worthy World Cup qualifying match.
