Urvashi as Komolika again! Albeit in positive avatar (With Images)
January 30th, 2012 - 8:59 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Jan 30 (IANS) Urvashi Dholakia, best remembered as the nasty and vampish Komolika of “Kasautii Zindagii Kay”, is set to play Komolika again! But this time, the popular actress will essay a positive part with a cameo in TV serial “Saubhagyavati Bhava”.
Urvashi will be seen as Komolika Rana, a psychiatrist, in the show produced by UTV Television, and aired on Life Ok. And even though the “Komolika” tag doesn’t seem to be leaving her, she doesn’t mind.
“I always knew Komolika is never going to leave me, and I have no problems with that. People know me as that, so I can’t complain. Besides, the day I reached the sets and found out that this was going to be my name on the show, I broke into a hearty laugh,” Urvashi told IANS over phone from Mumbai.
Last seen in “Apno Ke Liye Geeta Ka Dharmyudh”, Urvashi will be introduced in Tuesday’s episode of the show — at a critical juncture, to treat the male protagonist Viraj, played by Karanvir Bohra, who suffers from a childhood mental disorder.
Urvashi worked with Bohra in “Kasautii Zindagii Kay”, and is excited about getting a chance to play a positive role. So the similarity between her “Kasautti…” character and “Saubhagyavati Bhava” ends just at the first name.
Her character will be instrumental in changing the course of the story of the show, which highlights the issue of domestic violence.
“It is such a positive role, very different from the Komolika that people know me for,” she said.
Even the look is far from being similar.
Her halter blouses, sexy saris and bejewelled bindis will be seen replaced by simple blouses, cotton saris, and a simple, straight black bindi.
“My face can’t change… and the look is much more realistic in this show. The kind of glamour during ‘Kasautii…’ days is tough to find now as women are either overdone or underplayed. I would say my character is somewhere in the mid,” said the actress, who is excited about sporting Fabindia saris, and smoky eye make-up for the show.
