Uphaar fire tragedy: Court seeks file on ex-cop
January 30th, 2012 - 7:41 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Jan 30 (IANS) The Delhi High Court Monday asked the union home ministry to place on record a file related to a plea seeking saction for the prosecution of former Delhi cop Amod Kanth in the 1997 Uphaar cinema hall fire in south Delhi which left 59 dead.
The kin of the victims had sought saction for prosecuting Kanth for allegedly allowing extra seats in the cinema hall and thus putting hurdles in its exits.
