Union minister’s son held for assaulting poll officials

Kolkata, April 17 (IANS) Trinamool Congress candidate Subhranshu Roy, the son of union Minister of State for Shipping Mukul Roy, was Sunday arrested form the venue of an election meeting in West Bengal for for allegedly assaulting poll officials, police said.
The rally was addressed by Trinamool chief and union Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee.
“He has been picked up from the Naihati area. After Banerjee left and the meeting was over, we picked him up. Right now he is in police custody,” sub-divisional police officer Ajay Kumar Thakur told IANS.
Subhranshu Roy is a Trinamool Congress candidate in the West Bengal assembly polls.
