Unicef to promote child rights in Lucknow festival
November 24th, 2010 - 6:11 pm ICT by IANSLucknow, Nov 24 (IANS) Around 45 children from Bundelkhand region of Uttar Pradesh will participate in ‘Lucknow Mahotsav’, a 10-day cultural extravaganza, and spread child rights issues, an official said Wednesday.
Unicef communication specialist Augustine Veliath said the children will visit its stall at the Mahotsav, beginning Thursday, and interact with the people.
The children will also attend workshops on newspaper making, radio jockeying and comic books, he added.
These kids have been selected from amongst a volunteer force called ‘Bal Bandhus’, who help Unicef in many of its activities, including the polio awareness programme in the state.
