July 23rd, 2011 - 11:22 pm ICT by IANSAbu Dhabi, July 23 (IANS/WAM) The UAE has condemned the twin attacks in Norway that left at least 91 people dead.
“The UAE condemns in the strongest possible terms these terrible, appalling crimes and expresses its full solidarity with the government of Norway in confronting these acts,” Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan said.
In a statement Friday, he offered condolences to the victims’ families and wished a speedy recovery to those injured.
Two bomb explosions Friday hit the headquarters of the Norwegian government in Oslo, killing seven people.
About two hours later, 84 people were killed when a gunman sprayed a youth camp on the Utoeya island, some 40 km from Oslo, with automatic weapon fire. The attacker, who was later arrested, was blamed for both the atrocities.
