August 9th, 2010 - 1:02 pm ICT by IANSLucknow, Aug 9 (IANS) Two women and a teenage girl were found murdered in their rented house in Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi district, police said Monday.
The three bodies were recovered late Sunday from the house in Rustamnagar village, some 300 km from here.
The victims include Zareena (40), her 14-year-old daughter Salma and another tenant Ramrati (60). Police are yet to ascertain the motive behind the crime.
“It appears that the assailants slit the throat of the three,” Deputy Superintendent of Police Ramanand Kushwaha told reporters in Varanasi.
“Though the exact reason behind the killings is yet to be ascertained, the crime has not been committed with the intention of loot or robbery as cash and other valuables are intact in the house,” he said.
According to the police, Ramrati’s son Om Prakash and Zareena’s husband Peer Ali were not present inside the house at the time of the killings.
