New Delhi, June 17 (IANS) Two women were allegedly sexually assaulted in separate incidents in Delhi, police said Tuesday. A newly married woman alleged that she was sexually assaulted by a doctor when she went for a pregnancy test to his clinic in the Rajouri Garden area of west Delhi.
“The victim told us that on Saturday she had gone to the clinic of a doctor, Jagdish, for pregnancy test where he tried to sexually assault her,” a police officer said.
The woman did not inform her family members about the incident but on Tuesday, she again fell sick. When her family members told her to go to the doctor, she refused and spoke about the Saturday incident. The victim’s family members then informed the police.
In another case, a woman was allegedly sexually assaulted in the Sultanpuri area.
“The incident took place when the victim was sleeping in her house at Poot Kalan area of Sultanpuri. The accused, Om Prakash alias Mangu, barged into the house and tried to assault the woman at around 1 a.m. on Tuesday,” a police officer said.
“When her neighbours heard her screams, they came to her rescue but the suspect fled from the spot,” the officer added.
