Another murder is said to have struck the Virginia Tech Campus, when authorities discovered the bodies of two slain students on Thursday. Both have been identified to be Virginia Tech University students. The bodies of the slain victims were found at a campground in the Jefferson National Forest, which is reported to be quite a popular hangout for students.

After the mass shooting that had taken place previously at the campus, as well as the beheading of a student that took place earlier this year, this shocking incident intensifies the cloud of fear that has spread all over the campus.

The two bodies have been identified to be those of 19 year old David Lee Metzler (hailing from Lynchburg) and 18 year old Heidi Lynn Childs (from Forest). According to Montgomery County Sheriff Lt. Brian Wright, the bodies of the two were discovered by a passerby. Wright revealed that Metzler’s body was found inside and that of Childs’, outside a car, in the parking lot at the Caldwell Fields campground. The campground is said to be located at a distance of about 25 miles from the Virginia Tech campus, which is located in Blacksburg.

Preliminary investigation has not identified any suspect as of now and the authorities are investigating all possible circumstance which could have led to the twin murders. The bodies of both the victims have been sent for autopsies to Roanoke.

Both the slain students are reported to have been sophomores; Metzler was an engineering major and Childs was pursuing a major in biochemistry.
