Nashik (Maharashtra), Sep 26 (IANS) Maharashtra’s Tribal Development Minister Babanrao Pachpute Monday said that two officials of a tribal school in rural Nashik had been dismissed for negligence that led to the rape of a minor girl Friday.

“I have given the termination orders of principal P.N. Vate and class teacher K.B. Wagh, Government Ashram School in Inambari village of Peth tehsil of Nashik, in connection with the rape of a 13-year-old girl,” Pachpute told reporters in Nashik.

The victim was raped allegedly by her acquaintance. According to local police, the unnamed accused in the case went to the victim’s school and asked her brother to call her. He then took her away under some pretext.

The next day the victim was found unconscious about 500 metres from the school.

Also on Friday, a three-and-a-half-year-old was allegedly raped by her 15-year-old uncle in Pimpalgaon Khamb village, near Nashik city.

An FIR was lodged on Saturday evening while the alleged rapist’s family tried to hush up the case by threatening the mother of the victim.

“We have arrested the mother-son duo and are questioning them regarding the case,” Nashik (Rural) Superintendent of Police Pravinkumar Padwal told IANS.

“Arrests have also been made in the rape of the 13-year-old victim,” he added.

This is the third incident in the last two months in which a minor girl was allegedly raped by either a distant relative or an acquaintance. On Aug 30, a 14-year-old girl was raped and burnt by three 13-year-old school boys in Eklehera in Nashik city.
