Two policemen killed in accident
June 19th, 2011 - 8:07 pm ICT by IANSPune, June 19 (IANS) Two policemen were killed and two others injured Sunday as their vehicle fell into a valley on the Mumbai-Pune expressway in this Maharashtra district, police said.
“Four policemen from Thane city were travelling in the van that fell into the valley near Lonavla. Two of them died and the other two are severely injured,” an officer of the Lonavla city police station told IANS.
Those killed have been identified as constables Sharad Chavan and Dashrath More, both 45-years-old.
“We have not been able to ascertain the cause of the accident yet,” the officer said.
