- Chandigarh, Nov 4 (IANS) Two Nigerians have been arrested here for staying in India without valid papers and for allegedly possessing 60 gm of cocaine, police said Wednesday.
The special crime investigation cell of Chandigarh Police Tuesday arrested 30-year-old Kozi Chinoh and 36-year-old Calistus Agumba from different parts of the city for staying without a valid passport and visa. About 30 grams cocaine was recovered from each of them, the police claimed.
“Following a tip-off, we laid a trap in Sector 16 and 44 and arrested the accused. They had come to the city to supply cocaine to their customers. Agumba was staying in Noida while we are still to ascertain the address of Chinoh,” a police officer said.
“They did not possess any passport and visa and were staying illegally in India. During the interrogation, we hope to unearth their network with other local and foreign drug dealers,” he added.
