Two Nigerians held for smuggling drugs
December 2nd, 2010 - 1:09 am ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Dec 1 (IANS) Two Nigerian nationals were arrested from Kalkaji area of south Delhi Wednesday with over 500 grams of narcotics.
Emmanuel Paul and Christian were arrested while trying to courier the drugs abroad, a Delhi Police officer said.
“They were carrying sherwanis with wooden hangers. After breaking the hangers, six rolls containing 536 grams of drugs was recovered,” the officer said.
Police have not identified the narcotic as yet.
“They were trying to send the psychotropic substance to their associates in Holland,” he added.
The duo came to the city three months ago and sent drugs abroad after hiding them in general items.
There have been several cases this year of Nigerian nationals being caught for illegal activities, including drug peddling and commercial fraud.
