Two Nigerians held for running lottery scam
June 17th, 2011 - 1:17 am ICT by IANSNew Delhi, June 16 (IANS) Two Nigerians acused of running a fake lottery scam were arrested from in south Delhi, police said Thursday.
“The accused have been identified as Igbinovia Osayando Jeffery, 32 and Ejezie Arinze, 33. They were running a fake lottery draw in the name of of Coca Cola International Mobile Draw,” said a police officer,”
Acting on a tip off, the police arrested the accused from a house in Mehrauli on June 11.
“During the interrogation, the accused disclosed that they had come to India on a three months visa but stayed back even after the visas expired,” said the officer
“They stayed in India pretending to be merchants, dealing in readymade garments and other house hold articles. But, actually they were cheating innocent people by offering them huge rewards lotteries under various means,” added the officer
