Two murders convicts escape from Gurgaon jail
September 1st, 2012 - 1:20 am ICT by IANSGurgaon, Aug 31 (IANS) Two murder convicts escaped from the Bhondsi district jail Friday as the jail complex was being cleaned, a police official said.
They were identified as Zile Singh, 27, of Rajasthan’s Alwar and Amit Kumar, 24, of Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar.
As a cleaning exercise was undertaken by a group of prisoners, the duo seized the opportunity to flee, said the official, adding their absence came to light during a counting parade.
A case has been registered against jail officials, the official said.
