New Delhi, July 11 (IANS) Two more men were arrested here Saturday for their alleged involvement in a brawl in south Delhi last month in which two men were killed, police said.
Police also claim to have recovered a baseball bat that was used in the crime.

Manoj Gulia, 22, and Shashi Kant, 21 - both residents of Chirag Dilli - were arrested by the police Saturday. Five others have already been arrested in the case.

Two cousins Vikas, 19, and Vijendra Sharma, 25, were killed June 26, when a group of over a dozen men, armed with knives and iron rods, barged into their house and attacked them.

The cousins were stabbed to death by the attackers before the victims’ families got hold of one of them, identified as Sumit, and lynched him before police reached the spot.

According to the police, the brawl occurred after a heated argument between the two groups at a engagement ceremony in the area.

The police also said that “revenge” was the motive behind the crime.

“After the engagement party, the accused felt humiliated and planned to take revenge on Vikas and Vijender. They wanted to attack the victims the following night as few people would be present in the locality,” police said.

“On interrogation, it was revealed that the accused went to the house of the victims along with the other co-accused. Gulia was armed with a baseball bat,” a police officer said.

“Gulia was working in a private company while Shashi Kant was working as a DJ at marriage parties. We are trying to arrest the remaining accused in the case,” the police officer added.
