Two minors killed in road accidents
March 11th, 2011 - 9:41 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, March 11 (IANS) Two children were killed after being run over by vehicles in separate incidents in Delhi, police said Friday.
The first incident took place at Vijay Vihar in Rohini area in north Delhi Thursday night when a 13-year-old boy, Bhola, was crushed under a speeding truck while he was returning from the market to his home in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi Colony.
The driver was arrested from the spot.
After the incident, local residents staged a protest but were dispersed by police.
In the other incident, a class 5 student was crushed under the wheels of a three-wheeler in Kalyanpuri area of east Delhi.
Tushar, 9, son of Dinesh Singh, was playing in front of his house Thursday night when a speeding vehicle crushed him.
Local residents took Tushar to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
The driver of the three-wheeler was arrested and Tushar’s body handed over to his family members after post-mortem examination.
