Both were active members of the local unit of Jana Natya Mandali, a cultural troupe of the Communist Party of India-Maoist, he said.
Nachika was an active Maoist since the past three years. She was involved in several crimes including in a murder case, Priyadarshi said.
Madingi had joined the rebels only three months ago, he added.
Maoists are active in more then half of Orissa’s 30 districts, Koraput being a stronghold.
